Students

Illuminating the past for a brigher future

Imagine learning new skills or earning course credits while contributing to something really meaningful!

Do you know that your time and skills are valuable assets that can help Caribbean cultural heritage organizations document, protect, and promote their collections? You can gain knowledge, work experience and transferable skills while being integral to a worthwhile project.

We break down projects in specific chunks of work and turn them into tailored internships for students of all levels who want to gain experience by practicing transferable 21st century skills. We guide you at every step of the way, clarifying targets at the beginning, reviewing your performance regularly and providing useful feedback. You don’t only get to do an internship–you gain project management experience and will know you have contributed to the success of a project.

Some of the tasks you may be involved in:

  • Documenting a collection (compile inventory and/or finding aid)
  • Researching a collection
  • Developing an exhibit (physical or digital)
  • Digitizing a collection
  • Contributing to a Digital Humanities project
  • Writing a biography or a Wikipedia page
  • Writing a blog based on the research you did
  • Conducting an oral history
  • Data entry

Please call or write to us to discuss how you can be involved and make a difference!
